Grand Forks says cheers to Gallery at Taps and Tapas

People were more than happy to help support Grand Forks Art Gallery 2 by selling out the annual Taps and Tapas fundraiser.

People were more than happy to help support Grand Forks Art Gallery 2 by selling out the annual Taps and Tapas fundraiser.

Around 100 people packed the grounds around the gallery on Saturday night to enjoy craft beer, cider and even spirits from around B.C.'s Interior and sample finger foods from local bakeries and producers while enjoying live music and each other's company under clear skies.

Gallery director and curator Tim Van Wijk said the support speaks for itself with so many people coming out to take in the summer social event for the gallery. As a non-profit, it relies on the financial support of the public to keep the doors open and exhibits running.

This is an especially special occasion as the gallery is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

All proceeds after expenses go towards supporting the gallery.

The next major fundraiser for the gallery is the wine tasting on Nov 23.
