For the past three years Les Folles Jambettes, in partnership with Spencer Hill Orchard and Gallery, has brought in talented musical acts from around B.C. and Alberta to their popular Starlight Saloon.

This year, the highly acclaimed Sumner Brothers will bring their roots/bluegrass/blues style to the orchard this year and of course, the beautiful Les Folles Jambettes Cancan troupe, featuring cowgirl poet Gypsy Jill, will be kicking up their legs for the crowd at the        fourth annual Starlight Saloon on Aug. 12 and 13 at Spencer Hill Orchard and Gallery.

It promises to be one of the best years yet!

If you are not familiar with the Sumner Brothers or Les Folles Jambettes, here’s a little teaser to feast your eyes on: In the words of Bruce Springsteen, “Nothing feels better than blood on blood.”

Brothers and frontmen Brian and Bob Sumner share a bond that requires no flattery – a family pact that keeps their music honest and authentic. Their upcoming release I Love You, Smile holds true to what their devoted fans around the world know and love: the raw grit of steel string guitar and banjo, the lonesome hum of a harmonica, Bob’s haunting tenor croon, the devastatingly low baritone of brother Brian.

This collision of sound forms the beautifully twisted roots of The Sumner Brothers.

Les Folles Jambettes is a high-spirited act from Grand Forks that has been kicking up their heels since 1997. Based on the historical dance of the boomtown mining days of B.C., Les Folles Jambettes presents the traditional cancan and brings it into the 21st century. These beautiful dancers can be seen flying across the stage, doing leg circles, the pigeon wing and dropping to the splits. Watch out for these highly acclaimed dancers, and lose yourself in their ruffles and feathers. Step back in time to the Wild West with Les Folles Jambettes. lesfollesjambettes.webs.com

Tickets for the Starlight Saloon are $10 and will be available in advance at Thistle Pot Gifts in Grand Forks and Huckleberry Mountain Market in Christina Lake or at the door. There will be some scrumptious food available at the Spencer Hill Gallery and a cash bar so no minors.

It will take place on Friday, Aug. 12 and Saturday, Aug. 13 at the Spencer Hill Orchard and Gallery, in Grand Forks.

Come enjoy some amazing entertainment under the stars!
