CRAFTY CORNER: Tight for space? Use some clips and tin cans

Make some storage space with a few simple items.

Tin cans and metal clips an easy-to-make storage container makes.

I’m organizing again, but one day I will stop – not!

With summer finally here, thoughts of eating outside and camping are on my mind, along with mosquitoes and bugs.

I was rummaging through some picnic items the other day, getting a list ready for camping, when I came across those little metal clips that hold a tablecloth on.

“Wait a minute, there must be another use for them,” I thought and well, I came up with some ideas.

I clipped them on to the edge of a shelf and snapped a tin can onto them for a little extra storage. I have extra rolls of scotch tape in one, some little tools in another and on one, I hung my favourite scissors.

You would be surprised how many things you can store in them. I have a list of about a dozen things that I could use them for.

What about the guys in their shops for all those nuts and bolts and doodads?

Then I started thinking about the grill.

Why not snap one on to the edge of your grill and use it to hang an oven mitt or an extra hand towel?

Maybe even attach an extra one to the table where children sit to hang a hand towel close by for all those fabulous messy meals we eat in the summer.

I don’t know about you but I eat my corn from ear to ear.

Watermelon; who doesn’t get juice and seeds everywhere when eating it?

I would love to hear from anyone with anything else you can use those handy little clips for. You can contact me through email circulation@grandforksgazette.ca

Please put Crafty Corner in the subject box. Hope to here from lots of you. Happy Summer!
