Occupy Together event on Oct. 15 at Gyro Park

On Oct. 15, there is a global outcry for change in the way our society is prioritizing and privatizing to the benefit of a select few at the cost of many.

Any of us feeling the pressures of inequality in the current economic and political situation have the opportunity to join a real force with a voice.

On Oct. 15, there is a global outcry for change in the way our society is prioritizing and privatizing to the benefit of a select few at the cost of many.

Hundreds of cities and thousands of citizens worldwide are gathering on Saturday, Oct. 15 in solidarity of a movement called Occupy Together.

Our local gathering place is Gyro Park, Grand Forks, from 11 am to 2 p.m.

The most powerful part of this movement is its commitment to peaceful resolutions to all challenges it has been faced with so far. Many innocent, educated, everyday people have been faced with police brutality, pepper spraying, intimidation and arrests and still the message repeated through it all is one of remaining peaceful.

If you agree that it’s time for the 99 per cent of us to stand up against the one per cent for what should be the human rights for all, please join us.

We plan to congregate in a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere.

Bring your signs, banners, families, friends, musical instruments and positive attitudes in the hopes to spark a change for the benefit of all.

For more information on this cause please go online and educate yourself to the momentum that is building worldwide – www.occupytogether.org has many links and pertinent information available.
