To clarify the information in last week’s edition of The Gazette on the Observation Mountain walk, there are three starting points: Copper Ridge (easiest), Barbara Ann Park (longer) and the wildlife hall (harder).
All start times are 9:30 a.m. with a guide and take less than one hour to get to the top. All animals are welcome, including humans.
At 11:00 a.m. we sing O Canada at the Star, then return to join-in with the city’s festivities at Gyro Park by 12 noon.
It is suggested that red and white clothing would be worn, along with stout shoes or good runners and a bottle of water. If you haven’t walked much recently, it is recommended that practice walks, increasing to three kilometres, should be done during the week before July 1.
A part of a trail is wheelchair-accessible with helpers.
We hope to see dogs and their handlers as well as adventurous citizens.
