Kids encouraged to join the reading club

Kids are encouraged to join the reading club this summer.

Encourage kids to investigate great reading this summer!  Children will be forced to wonder whether what they read is “Strange… But True?”

When they join the 2012 Summer Reading Club for free at the Grand Forks Library & District Public Library.

Kids can sign up at the Grand Forks & District Library starting on Tuesday June 19 and receive a fabulous free Reading Record and bookmark, as well as collect weekly stickers.

Check us out for fun free programs, contests and displays all summer.

Kids who complete their Reading Record will be eligible to receive a special Summer Reading Club medal!

Regular reading during the summer helps kids to maintain or even improve their reading and literacy skills and studies show that voluntary reading is the number one factor in establishing good reading habits.

Summer Reading Club makes reading fun and the expert staff at the Grand Forks & District Public Library can help kids find just the right book or magazine from among a wide variety of library materials.

Summer Reading Club reaches over 80,000 children across British Columbia every summer and is sponsored by the British Columbia Library Association with funding assistance from Libraries and Literacy, Ministry of Education.

In Grand Forks, the Summer Reading Club is sponsored by Young Canada Works and Canada Summer Jobs.

For more information about the Summer Reading Club contact the library at scr@gfpl.ca, drop by or check out the Summer Reading Club website at www.kidssrc.ca.

All children are invited to discover the “Strange…but true” this summer!
