JUNE 5 THUMBS UP, THUMBS DOWN: Thumbs down people who use sprinklers in the rain

A local expresses displeasure with someone that uses their sprinkler system despite the recent rains.

This week's edition of Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up: To lovely Mariposa Greenhouses. A fantastic and vast array of gorgeous healthy plants and flowers all lovingly grown and tended by Kim and Tom.

Kim’s always on hand offering friendly help and suggestions and Tom is ready and willing to assist customers with their precious purchases to their vehicles.

Thumbs Down: To those people who use our taxpayer funded rec centre parking lot as their personal used car sales lot.

Thumbs Up: To everyone that attended and donated to the Boundary Relay For Life last Saturday at James Donaldson Park. $47,607 was raised.

Thumbs Down: To dogs allowed to run on the golf course.

Thumbs Up: To Thelma Robb for all her years of faithful service at the Whispers of Hope.

Thumbs Down: To neighbours who leave their automatic sprinkler systems on in spite of all the rain we’ve been having.

Thumbs Up: To all those that supported the local squadron of the air cadets at the garage sale and hot dog sale this weekend and the Gazette for taking pictures of the event.

Thumbs Down: To all the rain that has been falling. Isn’t it June?

Thumbs Up: The City of Grand Forks for its beautification of the downtown core.

Thumbs Up: To the prompt service and good coffee from Jitters on Central Avenue.

Thumbs Up: To cancer survivors for providing inspiration for all.

Thumbs Down: People that wander around, making noise at night.

Thumbs Down: Those who leave long-winded messages on the answering machine.

Thumbs Up: As always to those that volunteer their time for the various events that take place around town.

Thumbs Up: To the friendly cashiers at Extra Foods.

Thumbs Down: To people that defecate behind buildings. Are you human or are you a dog?

Thumbs Up: To those that took furniture from the old Gazette office, limiting the amount of items going to the local landfill.

Thumbs Up: Summer’s near.
