Help available for compulsive overeaters in Grand Forks area

An Overeaters Anonymous group meets in Grand Forks on Monday nights. No membership dues or fees are required.

The first Overeaters Anonymous (OA) meeting was held in 1960 and since that time, it has grown to about 54,000 members.

OA is not just about weight loss, weight gain or maintenance, obesity or diets.

The OA program offers physical, emotional and spiritual recovery and helps create a plan of eating that may include identifying trigger foods and behaviours.

No membership dues or fees are required for participation in OA.

In OA you will find members who are morbidly obese, extremely or moderately overweight, average weight or underweight, still maintaining control over their eating behaviours, or totally unable to control their compulsive eating.

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop eating compulsively.  Anonymity protects both the individual and OA membership as a whole.

OA meets at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church basement at 7252 Seventh St. on Monday nights at 7 p.m. If you have any questions call 250-442-2346.
