Girls in Action held its annual banquet April 17 at the Gospel Chapel with a record turnout.

Not only did mothers and daughters attend but Pals, grandmothers and aunts as well – it was a lovely dinner and a great evening.

Lee-Anna Klassen, Dora Salkeld, Rae Salkeld, and Sybil Sinclair spoke and showed slides of their trip to Thailand.

Voyagers, led by Monica Thate and Liz Klassen, were given special bags with all kinds of goodies. Pathfinders each received their little scrapbooks, which they had worked on all year, and gifts of cozy blankets. Their leaders were Heather Kraftchick and Shawna Fojt.

Trailblazers, guided by Elaine Martens and Rae Salkeld, read all the books of the Bible, from memory, and each received a devotional book and special bookmark.

The girls each did a quilt book with their handprints and it was put together as a surprise gift to Martens.

Attendees were grateful to Deb Zibin for co-ordinating the kitchen and to all the mothers who brought salads and desserts and to Donna Ashton, for her famous buns.

Girls in Action (Pioneer Clubs) resumes in September.
