This week's edition of Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down.

Thumbs Up: The guys at Kal Tire in Grand Forks, who went out of their way to get the right size of tires for me. They literally went the extra mile, driving to Rossland (at no extra charge) to pick up tires. A big thank you.

Thumbs Down: Hunters who hunt in residential areas.

Thumbs Up: To the Grand Forks and District Library patrons for generous donations of wool and needles to the Teen Knitting Club.

Thumbs Down: To the norovirus for causing many in the community to feel very ill.

Thumbs Up: Everyone in the community who is helping to make the holidays happy for all, whether it is donating or accepting food, clothing, toys or books.

Thumbs Down: Icy sidewalks. I almost tripped today!

Thumbs Up: To the Grand Forks Choral Society for an amazing concert with very special thanks to Nanci Gillmor, who is that glue that keeps the concert going – decorations, tickets, flowers, advertising.  Couldn’t do it without her.

Thumbs Down: People who insist on drinking and driving, not just during the holidays.

Thumbs Up: Lynn Relph, Jane Morton and Yvonne Dubreuil for their assistance with the Teen Knitting Club.

Thumbs Down: Disrespectful drivers with no regard for pedestrians.
