At the start of July, the Christina Lake Stewardship Society, in partnership with the Boundary Invasive Species Society, began voluntary boat inspections and public education at the Texas Point boat launch.
The initiative for this project is to prevent Zebra and Quagga mussels from entering Christina Lake, which would cause serious ecological, recreational and economic problems for the area.
Members of the societies will be at the boat launch for three days every week throughout July and August, providing the public with educational material and teaching boaters the proper way to clean, drain, and dry their watercrafts.
Cruise on down to the boat launch, and get educated, so that we can “Help keep our lake clean!”
