Hi Grand Folks!
The leaves are coming down, the wind is picking up, and if I’m not mistaken it seems that fall is in full swing. That means it’s time to put the garden to bed, to admire your full mason jars, and to curl up under a blanket with a good book.
If you’re feeling particularly ambitious, you can make a couple of loaves of bread, or get a big pot of soup bubbling, or rummage around in your knitting basket and see what happens. In the evenings, you might pull out a deck of cards, plink away at the piano, or watch a movie or series.

What else is going on at the library? Well, we’re getting excited for the Friends of the Library book sale (Oct. 25, 26, and 27). We have a good mix of non-fiction and fiction, with magazines and children’s books and lots of random items thrown in for good measure.
We also have a steady stream of new books coming in – I’ve been receiving some wonderful Suggestions for Purchase from you folks, everything from Gordon Korman to Dork Diaries to Mycelium Running. So if there’s something you’d like to read that you don’t see on our shelves, let us know and hopefully we’ll buy it.
And here’s another new book that came in recently, Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize-nominated Carnival by Rawi Hage. It begins with a promising first sentence: “I was conceived on the circus trail by a traveller who owned a camel and a mother who swung from the ropes.” It’s anyone’s guess what happens next!
