Gallery 2 will be hosting its second “Living Book” tonight (Thursday) at 7 p.m.

Local resident Annie Plotnikoff, known to her family and friends as “Annie John” or “AJ” came to Grand Forks in 1942.

She has maintained a very active involvement in community life. She is a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her passion is her poetry and prose.

Annie has published work in numerous local and regional newspapers, periodicals, as well as anthologies.

Although her own experience as a member of Canada’s Doukhobor community and her small-town rural roots are a dominant theme in her work, the basic essence of her writing transcends any ethnic context into the realm of universal human experience, and appeals to the broadest possible audience.

The gallery would like to extend this invitation to come listen to Annie’s story.

This is the third Thursday of the month event and gallery 2 is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with light refreshments available throughout the day.
