The Grand Forks Border Bruins have hired Brent Batten as the team's new head coach and general manager.

The Grand Forks Border Bruins have hired Brent Batten as the team's new head coach and general manager.

According to the team's website, Batten spent the past season at the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy in Kelowna, B.C. – he also has 11 years of experience in various levels of coaching, including minor and college.

Batten replaces Jesse Dorrans who was relieved of his duties with nine games left in the 2010/11 regular season.
