It was the Jackson Purvis show last night (Tuesday) at Beaver Valley, as the high-scoring Bruins' winger scored all three GF goals including the tying goal with 43 seconds left in the game.The game was the Border Bruins first without Nick Deschenes, who left the team Sunday to take over the Trail Smoke Eaters. Matt Zamec, assistant coach and vice-president under Deschenes, has taken over behind the bench for Grand Forks.Purvis scored the first two goals of the game to put Grand Forks up 2-0 against the home town Nitehawks.Michael Bell put BV on the board at 3:06 of the first with a power play marker. Ryan Edwards then scored to tie the game at 2-2 early in the second stanza.Sam Swanson put the Hawks up 3-2 at 17:57 of the third period when he put the puck past GF netminderKai McDonald.Just as it looked as if the Nitehawks would pick up the win, Purvis scored, assisted by line mate Connor Gross.With no goals in overtime, the game remained a tie.Grand Forks hosts defending league champion Castlegar Rebels Saturday at home at 7 p.m.
