Aquatic centre to host bunny swim Saturday
The Grand Forks Aquatic Centre will be hopping this Saturday as they host the Annual Easter Bunny Swim.
The Easter Bunny will be at the pool from 1 to 3 p.m. participating in family games and activities. Don’t miss out on this great traditional family event. Admission is just $2 per person. The pool will be open for public swimming from 1 to 5 p.m.
The pool will be open on Easter Sunday, April 16 from 1 to 5 p.m.
The Grand Forks Aquatic Centre and Recreation office will be closed Good Friday, April 14 and also Easter Monday, April 17.
With spring here and the weather warming up, the Grand Forks Pickleball group has now moved outdoors. The Barbara Ann courts will be busy on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons at 1 p.m. The group welcomes new players and offers introductory instructions and the use of paddles to try the sport. The National Lifeguard Pool certification is designed to develop the fundamental values, judgment, knowledge, skills and fitness required by lifeguards. The National Lifeguard course emphasizes the lifeguarding skills, principles and practices, and the decision-making processes which will assist the lifeguard to provide effective safety supervision in swimming pool environments.
If you would be interested in becoming a lifeguard, there will be a course offered at the Grand Forks Aquatic Centre from Sunday, June 25 to June 30. The pre-requisites are; must be 16 years of age, have completed a standard first aid course and CPR course and have received a certification for a Bronze Cross. Please call today if you are interested in registering or require more information on how to become a lifeguard. This course and other advanced Aquatic leadership courses will work towards your graduation credits for high school.
