William W. Kazakoff of Grand Forks passed away at Boundary Hospital on October 3, 2016 at the age of 73.

Willie was born in Grand Forks to William N. and Helen Kazakoff and was the eldest of three children. He attended school and lived the majority of his life in Grand Forks. He enjoyed working on puzzles and reading Louis L’Amour novels. But his greatest joys were trout fishing in the rivers and creeks around Grand Forks and watching baseball games.

Willie was predeceased by his parents and his nephew Marcus Horkoff. He is survived by his sister Vicky Horkoff (Pat), sister Deb Mackinnon (Collin), niece Nadya Rickard (Scott - children Jonah and Summer), nephew Kevin Pready and nephew Cameron MacKinnon.

The past few years were difficult for Willie as his health began to deteriorate. He relied on his caregivers who attended to his needs daily, to whom the family is truly grateful.

Willie requested there be no funeral service. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Baker family of Grand Forks Funeral Home, with appreciation. Vechnaya pamyat. Rest in peace.
