On January 4, 2016, Walter (Willy) Laktin of Grand Forks passed away surrounded by his loving family at the Boundary District Hospital at the age of 61 years. He was predeceased by his parents Alex and Betty Laktin of Grand Forks.
Willy will be forever remembered by his beloved family including wife Margaret of Grand Forks; sons Eric of Vancouver and Scott of Grand Forks; sisters Linda Laktin of Grand Forks and Marilyn Turner of Vancouver; brother Bob (Cindy) Laktin of Grand Forks as well as many uncles and aunts, nieces, nephews and first cousins.
Willy retired from the City of Grand Forks after working for twenty five years. He enjoyed camping throughout B.C. Willy loved fishing, hunting and foraging for wild huckleberries, mushrooms and asparagus which he shared generously with friends and family.
