With deep sorrow we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Vera Pereversoff.

Vera was born on May 16, 1928 in Grand Forks to parents Alec and Lusha Arishenkoff. She grew up in Koochin Village in what is now known as the Outlook area. In the mid-1940’s she met a young man from Saskastchewan named Fred Pereversoff and they were married on August 23, 1945. They moved to the Pereversoff family farm in Almond Gardens near the old Cooper Bridge.

The family was in the seed growing business so there was plenty of work to do. Mom has resided on the same piece of land for over 72 years. During her working years Vera found employment doing field work, and as a custodian for the school district. Her last employment was at Boundary Lodge as a care aide and kitchen help, she worked there for 10½ years till her retirement.

Vera was a member of the USCC. In earlier years she served on the women’s committee and cooking groups. She also participated in one of the ladies choirs. With the help of family and home support, Vera continued to live at home until her last few days.

On Thursday, July 5, she passed away in hospital at the age of 89. Vera was predeceased by her husband Fred, brothers Alec and George, sister Lucy Romanoff and son-in-law John Maloff. She leaves behind to mourn her loss, children Tom and Katie, grandchildren Tammy and Camille, sister Audrey Negreiff of Spokane and three nieces.

Rest in peace, Mom. We would like to thank everyone for their kind words and support during our time of loss.
