Rose Saleski (nee Antoni)

1931 - 2016

On Wednesday, June 1, 2016 Rose peacefully went home having gracefully endured years of Diabetes and more recently Dementia.

Rose spent the last 8 months in Hardy View Lodge where she was compassionately cared for by so many.

Rose was born March 30, 1931 out on the farm behind a stook to Clementina and Michael Antoni.

She being the 7th child out of 8, 7 of which were girls, she worked alongside her father doing the work of a man with many mothers. This made Rose develop great strength and resourcefulness to use throughout her life. Her life was always intertwined with that of her husband Melvin Saleski from infancy on, they were destined to be together – in July it would have been 62 years.

Rose loved to travel, garden, cook, dance and she loved her flowers too. She always believed in leaving a place better than it was when she found it.

Rose also loved to challenge her mind with cryptoquotes, puzzles, reading and learning. She had great skill at cards, especially Crib. She loved her family even more, each of them brought her great joy.

Rose is survived by her loving husband Mel, daughter Cheryl (Rod) Jensen, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild, 3 sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Rose, Mom, Grandma, you have definitely touched our lives and we are all better for it.

A funeral will be held Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Funeral Arrangements have be entrusted to the Baker Family of Grand Forks Funeral Home.
