Norm passed away peacefully in Grand Forks Hospital on Jan. 4, 2016 from complications of heart disease. Norm was born at Royal Jubilee Hospital on Vancouver Island. As a boy he loved swimming and fishing with with his 5 siblings. As an adult he at first drove a logging truck, but then joined the Victoria City Police Force and served on the Motorcycle Division, also as a detective and later on as a coroners officer.

After 14 years in the force and receiving awards for being on Pistol Shooting teams, he then went into business for himself. He loved fishing, hiking, golfing, biking and visiting with people. He volunteered from age 60 to age 82 for many organizations.

He will be fondly remembered by his wife Grace, son Ron, stepdaughter Cheryl, his sister Rene (Nev), his brothers, his mother-in-law Mary, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brother in-laws/spouses and friends.

A Service will be held on Monday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Grand Forks with Pastor John Siemons officiating.
