It is with the deepest sorrow and sadness that the family of Marty Cook, announces his tragic passing on August 20, 2010, at the age of 47.

Left to mourn him is his mom, Louise Cook; sisters: Dianne Sookero (Ken), Jean Cook (Richard), and Marie Seymour (Rick); son, Thomas Cook; niece, Chelsey Delowsky (David); nephews: Eric Rezansoff (Heather), Jarret Rezansoff (Pam), Kurtis Streeper (Barb), and Ryan Cook; great-nieces and great-nephews, and many lifelong friends as well as new friends he had made over the past few years.

He was predeceased by his dad, Martin Harvey Cook in 1974.

Marty did most of his schooling in Castlegar, B.C., and Grand Forks, and later went on to take an apprenticeship at Malaspina College. Marty worked in Grand Forks, B.C., for many years at Canpar Industries and after deciding he needed a change, moved to the north (Grande Prairie, AB) where he sought "the big bucks" in the oil industry.

Marty lived life to the fullest and his time was always full of adventure. He was a kind soul who was always willing to give the shirt off his back for a friend in need. His family was extremely important to him and his mom's place (along with her homemade raviolis) was his haven.

Marty was also an outdoorsman who loved camping, boating, skiing, and skidooing. We are comforted by the fact that Marty's last summer was spent visiting with family and friends, camping at "his" campsite at Owl Mountain Ranch, and enjoying the company of his new love, Lydia.

Marty will live forever in our fond and sometimes funny memories and deep in our hearts. We love you Marty forever and ever until we meet again.

A celebration of life will be held at Owl Mountain Ranch in Christina Lake, B.C., at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Marty. Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel & Crematorium had care of arrangements.
