Lorraine R. Lindy passed away peacefully at Moog & Friends Hospice House, at Penticton on Monday, December 1, 2010, at the age of 62 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Jack Markle. She is survived by her husband Nelson and Nelson’s family; brothers Wayne Markle (Kay) and family and Dan Markle and family. Lorraine was an accounting clerk with BC Transit for many years. She loved to travel, visiting China, Scotland, Hawaii, Holland and recently spent New Year’s Eve 2010 at the Empire State Building in New York City. Lorraine was very community minded, a member of the Rock Creek Medical Society and was instrumental in the construction of the Parkview Manor. She was a member of the Rock Creek Fair and always enjoyed being part of the Wednesday Women who meet on Mondays. Lorraine was also a member of the Singing Kettles and she also enjoyed her walks at the Kettle River Provincial Park.
A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at 11 a.m., at the Rock Creek Fair Pavillion, Rock Creek, B.C. Officiated by Mark Danyluk.
