Lorraine Georgina Talarico (nee Secco), born on April 2, 1937, in Trail, B.C., passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, October 8, 2010, at Boundary Hospital at the age of 73.
She grew up and received her schooling at Trail, B.C., and went on to work for a number of years at the Ferraro family’s Super-Valu stores in both Trail and Castlegar.
Lorraine married Gino Talarico on July 17, 1965, and they went on to have two children. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and working with the ladies of the Catholic Women’s League to put on their famous spaghetti dinners.
Lorraine is predeceased by her husband, Gino Talarico and by her parents, Augusto and Helen Secco. She is lovingly survived by her son, Dennis (Karyn) Talarico and granddaughter Kayla of Victoria, B.C.; her daughter, Marcella (James) Kastrukoff of Grand Forks, B.C.; two sisters, Eleanor Parisotto and Clara Dawson, both of Trail, B.C.; and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., on Friday, October 15, 2010, at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Special thanks to the Grand Forks Funeral Home for their care of arrangements. Donations may be made in memory of Lorraine to the B. C. Cancer Society.
