LAURENCE Martin

Laurence Martin was born on June 14, 1923, in Nanaimo, B.C., and passed away quietly at Boundary Hospital in Grand Forks on April 15, 2010, at the age of 86.


He is survived by his loving wife, Edith; son, Daniel; sisters, Louise and Carol; granddaughters, Jill and Danielle; grandson, Adam; great-grandsons, Dylan and Ethan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Darlene and his brother, Stan.Laurence was a member of the Armed Forces before joining the B.C. Provincial Police Force in 1947, when the B.C. Police amalgamated with the RCMP. Laurence continued with the RCMP until retiring from service in 1972. After his retirement from the RCMP, they settled in Kelowna where he worked for the B.C. Government until retiring in 1989. In 2008, Laurence and Edith moved to Grand Forks and enjoyed spending time with his son and his wife.The family would like to thank the many close friends for their strength and support. A special thank you to the staff and physicians at Boundary Hospital for their care and kindness.


There is no service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the B.C. Cancer Foundation or to a Hospital Foundation of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Grand Forks Funeral Home.
