It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Julia Minder, November 14, 1923 to Febuary 22, 2017.

Julia was born in Aeschi, Berner Oberland, Switzerland to Anton and Frieda Oswald-Sieber, third youngest of 11 children.

She married Paul Minder, June 23, 1945 and they immigrated to Canada in June of 1955 with three of their children; the 4th was born in Canada.

Julia was a very special lady and an awesome cook and all who ate at her table would agree to that fact. She was a gracious hostess to all that came to her door. She loved gardening, the mountains, most animals and going for walks beside the Kettle River. She seldom missed a day walking beside the river in the past 37 years, until she had a stroke and was hospitalized January 27, 2017. She had never been inside for such a long period of time in her life. She loved being outside and always made a point of going outside every day even in the cold of winter.

She was predeceased by her husband and 2 grandchildren. She is mourned by her 2 sons Rudolf - Alberta and Paul (Laurelle) - Yukon and 2 daughters Margrit - NWT and Katy (Willy) - Grand Forks, B.C., 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many friends, nieces and nephews, far and near and a sister in Switzerland. She was small in stature but has left a mighty big gap in many lives.

There will be a celebration of her life on the 23rd of June 2017 at Minderland.
