Judith Clare (nee Thompson) Acres
June 9, 1943 – March 30, 2015
Judy passed peacefully in Coquitlam, BC after battling Alzheimer’s. Survived by her husband of 48 years Michael, daughter Hilary, son Graham (Sandi), granddaughters Kelsey and Teghan, and welcomed to heaven by granddaughter Brynne. Also survived by sisters Barb, Margie (Glen) and Joan (Ray), and bother Johnny (Dorothy), and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Rosetown, SK, she moved to Campbell River, BC with her family in 1961. She married in 1966 and raised a family with Michael in Grand Forks for 23 years. They then moved to Burnaby. She was never far from her sewing machine or her bike, an avid gardener, a volunteer with the Grand Forks Food Bank for many years, active in her community, an entrepreneur, and a cancer survivor. She will be remembered for her generosity, her kindness and her adventurous spirit. Celebration of life: Sunday, April 12 at 12:30 pm at Confederation Centre, 4585 Albert Street, Burnaby, BC, and this summer in Grand Forks.
