On Sunday, September 18, 2011, Jill Elizabeth McVie (nee Paver) passed away at the age of 63 years.

She is the beloved wife of Phil McVie and dear mother of Heather (Robert) McVie-Gaunt of Pittsburgh, PA, Julie (Lance) Martens of Grand Forks, B.C. and Jennifer (Paul) Britton of Vernon, B.C.; proud grandmother of Luke, Joshua, Hannah and Jonathan Martens, Benjamin and Keira Gaunt and Emery and Graham Britton.

She is also survived by her sister Pamela (Tom) Claridge of Orangeville, ON and nieces, nephews in Ontario and B.C. She was predeceased by her parents Alan and Iris Paver and granddaughter Vanessa.

She was born October 3, 1947, in Victoria, B.C. Jill was well-known in the Kamloops community for her involvement as a music teacher and with the Festival Board.

A celebration of Jill’s life will be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral on Friday, September 23, 2011, at 2 p.m., with the Very Reverend Louise Peters officiating.

Should friends desire, donations to a bursary fund to be set up in her honour for a deserving voice student at the Festival would be appreciated. These may be sent in care of St. Paul’s Cathedral, 360 Nicola Street, Kamloops, BC ,V2C 2P5, marked in memory of Jill.
