Jack Douglas Arnold Cain passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010, at the Boundary Hospital. John, as we knew him, was born in St. Catherine?s, Ontario, on April 21, 1931. He had numerous careers in his life including driving ice truck and ambulance, first-aid, back yard mechanic, painting, dry walling and various interior finishing jobs. He managed an apple orchard as well as a pizza place, and did everything from making the pizzas to delivering them. He also helped the R.C.M.P in the canine unit with the Mindy Tran murder.John went out of his way to help people. He stopped a woman from being murdered and saved her life by performing CPR on her. As stated in the newspaper article, ?it was a selfless act of a civilian to save another.?John also liked his cars, country western music and going to the Borscht Bowl for coffee. He will deeply be missed by his son Charlie and friends.A celebration of John?s life will be held at the Borscht Bowl, in Grand Forks on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at 6 p.m.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Grand Forks Funeral Home of Grand Forks, B.C.
