With sadness, Elizabeth (Betty) Irwin passed away on May 14, 2010. She was born June 11, 1938, in Edmonton, Alberta.Betty was a long-time employee of the Boundary Hospital and enjoyed raising her family. She was involved with the Legion Branch 59 for 10 years and served three years in the Reserve Army in the 1960s. Betty was predeceased by her mother, father, brothers: John and Paul and daughter Michelle. She is lovingly survived by Norman, her partner of 10 years; her sons: Bob (Mary) and Kent; daughter, Renee Bernier; grandchildren: Whitney, Alicia, Chase, Wyatt, Rob (Tracy); and great-grandson, Joshua.A special thanks to the Boundary Hospital staff, Boundary Hospice and the Red Cross, Cindy Pearman for spending countless nights and days before her passing, Dave and Shirley who walked every footstep with Betty, and everyone else for the well wishes and cheers along the way.A jam session will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion on Sunday, June 27, at 2 p.m. Interment of ashes in Sherwood Park, Alberta, will be held at a later date. All funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Grand Forks Funeral Home, Grand Forks, B.C.
