Christine was born on August 29, 1944, at Barnard Castle, in England. She passed over peacefully surrounded by her family on December 25, 2011, at Grand Forks, B.C., at the age of 67.

She is predeceased by her father, John Henry Alderson; her mother, Mary Hilda Hastings-Alderson; and granddaughter, Jillian Braithwaite. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Bob Braithwaite of Grand Forks, B.C.; adopted son, Gavin Day of Weyburn, Saskatchewan; her stepson Lon (Colleen) Braithwaite; and granddaughter Chloe of Innisfail, Alberta; step-daughter Leigh (Ryan) Feist and grandsons Tyson and Layton, granddaughters, Samantha and Mandy of Dawson Creek, B.C.

She was a long time employee of Wolf Creek Public Schools as Principal of Home Education Services at Ponoka, Alberta. Christine loved all things of beauty, especially of nature, her wide circle of friends, her cherished family, literature, and live theatre, a wide variety of music, her pets and especially her life and all their adventures with her husband Bob. Christine knew “The Secret and she lived it”.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 2 p.m., at the Christina Lake Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Christine’s name may be made to the Grand Forks Public Library. Grand Forks Funeral Home had care of arrangements.
