Dave passed away peacefully on December 16, 2015 at the age of 92. He is survived and will be hugely missed by his children: Chris (Jody), Jennifer (Terry), Stu (DeMaris), Steve (Megan) and Bruce; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and favorite nieces and nephews.
Dave was born and raised in Vancouver. Following high school he enlisted in the RCAF where he served overseas in WWII until his last air raid when he was shot down. Captured, he spent the remainder of the war as a POW. When he returned to Canada he met Nancy. Married for 66 years, they spent their life together raising their family, building their community and enjoying their favourite pastimes, among them travelling, curling and GOLF! Nancy predeceased Dave by nine days, leaving a hole in the lives of their family, their cherished friends and the community they loved.
A joint celebration of life will be held in the Spring. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Phoenix Foundation of which Dave was a founder. Arrangements entrusted to the Baker Family of Grand Forks Funeral Home, gffh@shaw.ca.
