Beverley (Bev) Campbell (nee McGowan) passed away on October 28, 2010, at the Trail Regional Hospital at age 79 years. Bev is survived by her husband Roger, son Alan (Joanne and Jacob), brother Stan McGowan (Lorna), brother-in-law Bruce Campbell (Doddie), sister-in-law Fay Kathol (Hal), sister-in-law Carol McGowan, nieces and nephews and their children.

Bev was predeceased by her parents Alpha and Wallace McGowan, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Marjorie and Elvin Campbell, sister Delores Garven and her husband Don, and by her bother Bill McGowan.

Bev was born at Midale, Saskatchewan on April 29, 1931. She grew up on the family farm at Goodwater, Saskatchewan and attended Rough Bark School – a one room rural school, then later Goodwater High School. Bev entered nursing education becoming a Registered Nurse in 1955. Bev was actively engaged in nursing until retiring in 1991. Her nursing career included general duty nursing, public health nursing, educator and administrator; all occurring in Saskatchewan. Following retirement from nursing, Bev worked part-time in a ladies wear shop.

Bev and Roger moved to Christina Lake, B.C., in 1998. She was very active in the community as a member of the Christina Lake Health Care Auxiliary as well as the Christina Lake Community Hall Auxiliary.

Bev truly enjoyed singing and was a member of the Grand Forks Choral Society, the Christina Lake Singers and the Perley United Church Choir.

Bev was diagnosed with cancer in January 2010. She enjoyed a full and happy life with her family and friends right up to the final day. Bev loved her gardens and all of her flowers; which were always show stopping. Bev was a very caring and loving wife and mother; every life that she touched knew this without question.

Funeral services for Bev will he held at the Christina Lake Community Center on November 4, 2010, at 2 p.m. The Campbell family would appreciate a donation to your favourite charity or the Canadian Cancer Foundation in Bev’s memory in lieu of flowers. Funeral arrangement were in care of Grand Forks Funeral Home.
