On April 8, 2016 the world lost a kind, funny, and gentle man with the passing of Alec Dutoff. We are fortunate to have had him with us for 78 years, the bulk of which he spent in this valley of ours, which he loved dearly.

Alec leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Doris Dutoff. He will also be greatly missed by his daughter, Beverly Dutoff, her husband Steve Budgell and his beautiful granddaughters, Alison and Holly who live in Ontario but were fortunate to make it here to spend some time with Alec.

In passing, Alec joined his first daughter Sarah Dutoff, who passed away in December 2013, as well as his brother Sam Dutoff who passed in 2009.

Alec is survived by his mother Vera, brother Nick Hoodikoff (Verna), sister Katie Slastukin (Peter). He also leaves behind extended family and friends in our community who will also miss his gentle humour and ready smile. May he rest in peace.

The family wishes to thank the care providers at the Boundary hospital as well as hospice support volunteers that made Alec’s last days as good as they could be. Additionally they wish to express gratitude for the food and visits that the community has extended over the days following Alec’s passing.
