The Royal Canadian Legion’s poppy campaign for this year has officially begun with the mayor receiving the first poppy of the year.
Taylor received the first poppy from President Joe Tatangelo at a small ceremony at the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion on Oct. 26.
Poppies are available at many Grand Forks businesses for a donation.
The money raised goes towards helping veterans and their families.
