My name is Patrick O’Doherty.
Over the past 40 years I have lived, worked and raised my family in Grand Forks.
Prior to retirement, for 30 years, I owned and operated a plumbing and heating business in the Grand Forks and Boundary area.
Over the years, I have been actively involved with the annual Grand Forks International baseball tournaments as well as the Border Bruins hockey club.
I also have had 18-years experience as a council member. I am proud to say that I had a part in providing local improvements such as water expansions, improvements to parks and implementing the new sewer system for city residents.
As councillor, I would like to focus on the general infrastructure throughout the city by providing improvements to our roads, water, sewer and electrical systems, working towards positive growth for the city.
My goal is to be able to provide these improvements to current residents, as well as have our community attract new families to the area.
I would also like to work closely with seniors and young families in the community to help provide affordable housing options and accessible health care services and I wish to be an advocate for any other concerns they may have.
I understand that these are hard economic times we are all experiencing, therefore I would like to work at keeping taxes low for residents and local business owners.
I look forward to the opportunity to be a representative for this great community we live in.
