Mount Douglas Park must be treated properly

Letter to the editor on signage and trails in Saanich's Mount Douglas Park

Re: Staying on the beaten path (News, Jan. 29)

We are fairly new to Victoria, but it did not take us long to discover Mount Doug and its many joys, since we live close by.

Also it didn’t take too long to realize, it is easy to wander off down the wrong path simply because of the lack of simple, cheap direction plates. This is particularly true of, as you say, the south side. The Blenkinsop side of the park seems to have signs every 50 feet.

Since we, as I am sure almost everyone does, do wish to treat this resource properly, surely the correct method is to sign all the trails, then complain about the people who don’t comply.
